Real let SF City FC come back on second half with three goals in the last 10 minutes

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Real Sao Paulo had a chance to get important 3 points this past Sunday at the Crocker Amazon #3 Field, but instead handed SF City FC a 3-2 victory. The late 3 goals capped a second-half SF City FC comeback after Fabio Marques and Amine Abalil had given the Tricolores a 2-0 lead. 

In the 13th minute, Scott let the ball easily to Elmer. He sent a long ball to Leandro. He played back with Cris who sent a first time cross to Fabio inside the box. He tried to fool the keeper with the header and shot it to the top right corner, but the goalkeeper saved. One minute later, Bobby recovered the ball and played with Fabio. He carried towards the SF City field. He cut inside dribbling two midfieilders and sent a through ball to Leandro. He asked it back ahead but Leandro passed it a little too behind him. Carlinhos recovered and tried a 30-yard shot, but it went off the near post.

In the 27th minute, Elmer saved a nice shot and sent a long ball to Leandro. The SF City defender cleared it to the side line and Leandro quickly sent the throw-in to Murillo inside the box. He flicked it back with the head to Fabio. He waited for the first bounce and sent a strong shot passed the goalkeeper to the net. Real 1-0.

In the 32nd minute, Throw-in for Real. Omar played with Leandro. He played with Bobby who opened with Murillo. He passed it to Fabio in the top of the arc. He gave it to Murillo back. He tried a shot from outside but the goalkeeper saved. Six minutes later, free kick for SF City on the top of the arc. Player #8 sent it over the wall, but Elmer was well-positioned and caught it.

SF City FC had just kicked off for the start of the second half when Bobby stole the ball and played with Leandro. He gave him a back heel pass. Bobby carried it towards the top of the arc and shot, but it went off the left post. In the 51st minute, Amine recovered the ball in the midfield. He dribbled the midfielder and carried the ball in the left wing. The defender cleared it out. Bobby sent the throw-in to Fabio inside the box. He dribbled the two defenders and shot, but the goalkeeper saved and sent it to corner kick.

In the 52nd minute, throw-in for Real. Pitufo played with Leandro and got it back. He called a one-two with Amine and then sent him a through ball in the left wing inside the box. Amine carried it all the way to the end line and passed it back to Fabio in the small box corner. Fabio tried a first time shot, but it went inches off the left post.

In the 55th minute, free kick for Real. Omar sent it to Leandro, but the defender cleared it. Murillo recovered and played with Leandro. He brought it down in front of the defender, dribbled the other one and shot, but the goalkeeper saved it again. Two minutes later, free kick for SF City this time. Scott recovered it and played with Murillo. He played with Booby who passed it to Leandro. He tried to send a through ball to Fabio, but he opened the legs and let it pass to Murillo. He tried a low shot, but the goalkeeper saved it again.

In the 65th minute, throw-in for Real. Amine played with Fabio. He called a one-two, but the defender cleared it. Bobby recovered and played with Leandro in the center of the field. Leandro sent a through ball to Fabio. He carried towards the right side of the top of the arc, dribbled two players and shot, but the ball hit the right post and went out.

Amine picked up his first goal in the game on the other side of halftime and increased Real's lead in the 70th minute. Matias recovered the ball in the midfield and opened with Amine in the right wing. Amine tried a blind pass to Leandro, but it got stuck in between two defenders. Leandro was smarter and took the ball from them. He dribbled a defender and shot, but the goalkeeper intercepted it and the ball hit the top bar. Matias got the rebound, brought the ball down and set it aside to Amine who scored an easy goal. Real 2-0.

he SF City FC comeback began almost immediately one minute later. SF City kicked off. Scott recovered the ball and passed it back to Elmer. Instead of clearing the ball out, he waited for the forward to get closer pressing. He tried to send a lobby ball to Matias, but the forward intercepted and gave it easy to Player #15 who shot at the upper, right corner with no chances for Elmer. Real 2-1.

In the 72nd minute, Bobby sent a nice lobby through ball to Leandro in the left wing. He played with Fabio who carried it across the top of the box, dribbled the defender, entered the box and shot a high, cross ball but it went inches of the top bar.

In the 76th minute, free kick for Real. Murillo aimed the top, right corner, but the goalkeeper managed to perform an amazing save. SF City started a counter-attack and the ball got crossed from the left wing all the way to the right wing over Scott. Omar had the possession, but instead of clearing it out, he tried to dribble the forward and lost the ball. He crossed the ball inside the box and Elmer could not hold it and the other forward scored an easy goal to tie the game. Real 2-2.

Eight minutes later, free kick for Real. Omar sent it to Fabio who chested it down to Leandro. He asked for it back and Leandro sent a perfect through ball to him among several defenders. He got rid of them and entered the box. He tried a low, crossed shot, but the goalkeeper saved for the 10th time in the game.

In the 88th minute, goal kick for SF City. Matt tried to clear it, but the ball went back. SF City left wing headed the ball to Player #18 who took a very weak shot, but Elmer could not hold it over his head and the ball entered the goal. Real 2-3.

Before the end of the game, Real kicked off again. Fabio played with Murillo and got it back. He tried a shot from 60 yards out, but the ball went inches off the top bar.

"Losing games like that really decreases our chances for the championship" said Fabio Marques. "It is unacceptable to let the opponents capitalize on juvenile mistakes after we get a 2-0 lead". Real Sao Paulo now lost some positions in the table. Real's next match is against Melchester Rovers on Sunday at the Silver Terrace field and Real will have step up a notch in order to go back to the top 3 in the league.
