Saulo's corner kick olympic goal lifts Real over Bosnjaci again this season

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- On a hot, Bay Area afternoon, Real Sao Paulo extended their unbeaten streak to three games after defeating Bosnjaci, 1-0, for the second time this season on a first-half goal from Saulo Pereira on Sunday at the Crocker Amazon #3 field. Murillo Coutinho also stepped up as the backup goalkeeper, stopping two shots in the process.

From the opening whistle, the Tricolores side outplayed Bosnjaci, maintaining most of the possession in the first half and peppering the Bosnians goal with eleven shots in the first 45 minutes. The Bosnians seemed content to play defensively and aggressively in order to work to stop Real rather than go for the three points themselves.

In the 9th minute, Murillo sent a long ball to the attack towards Leandro. The Bosnjaci defense let the ball bounce and Leandro entered the box with a great chance to chip it over the goalkeeper, but the shot was easy for the goalkeeper to save.

In the 16th minute, corner kick for Real. Saulo sent a perfect cross and almost surprised the goalkeeper with an olympic goal. The goalkeeper saved it and Ever tried to head the ball in after the rebound, but it went over the bar. Three minutes later, Leandro passed the ball to Fabio in the top of the arc with a back heel. Fabio took too long to prepare the shot and got intercepted by the defender.

In the 22nd minute, throw-in for Real. Nedjo gave it to Fabio who tried to get rid of the left back but got pulled by the shirt. Cris sent the ball inside the box, but the defender cleared it to corner kick. Saulo tried another olympic goal by bending the cross towards the goal. The ball passed over the goalkeeper and the defender tried to head it over the bar, but instead pushed it to the goal. Real 1-0.

In the 25th minute, throw in for Real again. Amine played it with Saulo who gave it back to him. He carried towards the endline, dribbled two players and passed it back to Leandro. He let the ball pass between his legs and Fabio tried the first time shot, but it went inches from the left post.

In the 41st minute, throw-in for Bosnjaci. Amine recovered the ball quickly and sent a perfect assist to Leandro in the top of the arc. He decided to cut it to the side instead of hitting first time. The shot was over the bar and Real missed an easy opportunity to increase the lead.

In the 65th minute, Murillo sent the ball to the attack. Amine recovered the rebound and sent another perfect assit to Leandro. He had time to chip over the goalkeeper again, but the shot was to high this time and it went out by the post.

In the 73rd minute, throw-in for Bosnjaci. Marcos David recovered the ball and sent a perfect through ball to Fabio. He cut the defender to the outside and shot as he was entering the box. The ball went inches over the bar in another dangerous play by Real.

The win brought the tricolores back to the top 3 positions only one point behind the current leaders. The game also had a couple of ejections for the Bosnian players and a compensation ejection for Real player Matt Gruber. The referee showed the yellow card and afterwards, as the Bosnian players threatened to leave the field, he "changed his mind" and showed the red card instead. Real now plays against Knights F.C. They are tied in points with them, therefore a win can guarantee the second position for Real or even the lead of the table in case Martin Macks looses their game. The tricolores intend to pick another win next Sunday and start challenging for the lead of the table again.
